Overview
Weathershield Exterior High Gloss paint from Dulux gives a lovely high gloss finish to outdoor wood and metal. You get a guaranteed 10 year weather protection with this paint, as long as surfaces are in good condition before application. The mould resistant weatherproof film minimises staining and is flexible enough to resist cracking. These help to keep your exterior paintwork looking in tip top condition for longer than conventional Dulux gloss paints.

Preparation
Special precautions should be taken when preparing pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
- Before painting, ensure surface is in clean, dry condition with no flaking or dirt.
- Sand down the surface, to remove any existing sheen.
- Any areas with mould, algae, fungi or lichen should first be treated with a before painting.
Application
Only apply in temperatures exceeding 10 degrees celsius and when there is no wet weather forecasted. Stir the paint thoroughly before you start to ensure an even distribution. We strongly advise you to test a small are before beginning, to ensure that you're happy with the colour and finish.
- First, apply two coats of to primed surfaces with a brush.
- Finish with one or two coats of Dulux Weathershield Exterior Wood and Metal Paint.
- Darker colours may need another coat.
- It's advisable to only use light colours on south facing, resinous wood.
