Overview
Dulux Trade Ultimate Woodstain is a high performance exterior Weathershield woodstain containing Dulux Trade's Ultimate wood protection technology, which keeps exterior joinery protected from extreme weather for up to 10 years when used in accordance with the instructions. This product is suitable for both hardwoods and softwoods, including doors, windows and other joinery.

Tinted Colour Information
Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Dulux tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.Area | Exterior |

Preparation
For best results, ensure surfaces to be treated with Dulux Trade Ultimate Woodstain are sound, clean and dry.
- Remove all loose and defective coatings, stripping back to bare wood if necessary. If the surface you're staining has been previously painted and the coating is in poor condition, you will need to strip back to bare wood.
- Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
- Remove and treat any mould, algae, lichen or moss with .
- Remove defective glazing material, clean the rebates and any loose or open joints. Replace any problem knots and rotten wood with preservative treated timber.
- Rub down all surfaces thoroughly in the direction of the grain to remove any grey, weathered wood and surface sheen from remaining coatings, and then dust off (refer to COSHH Assessment).
- Prime all bare wood with 2 coats of including any new or bare replacement beading. Wipe off any excess basecoat from surrounding paintwork.
- Fill any surface defects, open joints, etc. and replace any missing glazing material. Do not use linseed oil putty for glazing or making good with natural wood finishes, use external beads set in an appropriate non-setting mastic or a special glazing compound.
- New joinery is often factory primed using a stain basecoat, also known as a dual-purpose primer. The stain basecoat's materials quickly erode when left exposed and may need to be re-primed.
Application
Always follow the manufacturers instructions found on the tin, it is recommended that a small test area is applied before painting the entire surface to ensure compatibility.
- Stir thoroughly before use.
- Apply 2 coats of to all bare wood.
- Finish with 2 or 3 coats of Dulux Trade Ultimate Woodstain, applied with a brush only. Do not spray.
- Maximum benefit will only be achieved when used as directed above on good quality timber that conforms to BS EN 942: 2007, in conjunction with good component design.
Not suitable for use on exterior timber where there is severe checking and splitting of the wood caused by long-term exposure. Do not use on resinous wood or woodwork with a history of blistering.
